The Three Free Therapies:  Deep Relaxation, Nutrition and Movement

Date: Monday, February 9, 2009 and Saturday, March 21, 2009
Time:       9:00a - 1:30p
Location: Cameron Clinic of Oriental Medicine

Join Nan Cameron for a fun and exciting morning in exploring The Three Free Therapies of Deep Relaxation, Nutrition and Movement.  Oriental Medicine is based on the concept that harmony and balance is necessary for good health.

Luleen Anderson in her book the Knack of a Happy Life writes, ‘the good news is we have a choice.  We have the freedom to put our body on the list for regular care and maintenance.  Each of us has the responsibility of taking loving care of our body, instead of pretending that our body will make an exception  for us.”

Participants will explore the anatomy of stress and it ‘s effects on their body.  You begin to assess "the balance" in your life and how and where you could use some adjustments.  It’s important to have a chest full of tools to use for your self care.  In this class you will learn a guided Qi gong meditation called the Smiling Practice.  Qi gong is the practice of internal energy development.  The Smiling Practice helps cultivate and balance your qi or  life energy.  How often have you heard “Your are what you eat” .  Find out some basics about your digestive system and learn about digestive enzymes and probiotics.  Stimulate the flow in your lymphatic system with some easy exercises and end the day's session with a walking meditation.  Understanding how you can bring balance to your mind, body and spirit allows you to enjoy the richness of your life.
